Happy Halloween everyone. This is one of my favorite holidays. I guess because it takes me back to my childhood and brings out the child still within. I wrote a memoir vignette and posted it on our . . . more

On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:Along with my business partner and co-author Matilda Butler, we are looking to discuss the opportunities and challenges in memoir writing. We are striving to push the envelope in this area--as we did with Rosie's Daughters: The First Woman To Generation Tells Its Story. We expect there are many other writers out there interested in the same. You can join our group at womensmemoirs.gather.com

Jan C., Apr 13, 2009, 1:57PM EDTHi Kendra,
Thanks for the ping and invite for your class. It sounds great, but I am in the middle of finishing up my first book for publication and working on others. I'll check out your next classes for sure because one of the current works in progress is a memoir :)
I love your website and listened to the 55 minute call - great info.
Have a great week, Jan -

Thought I'd reach out and say hello.

Michelle Rockwell, Feb 25, 2009, 5:56PM ESTI thought you and Matilda might be interested in this. Writer's Digest magazine just put out an article titled "Critiquing Critique Clubs." In it they provide a brief survey "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" I wanted you both to know that I checked every single positive criteria markers to all 8 questions, meaning that your class has really met my needs as a writer thus far. I think the most important thing for me at this point is that it has motivated me to write on a regular basis....and I believe I'm improving.

Michelle Rockwell, Feb 25, 2009, 7:09AM ESTHi Kendra. Should I post a portion of something I've already written and used for class? I've been working on a revision of the last piece we critiqued. Or should I post something new?

Judy Watters, Oct 16, 2008, 10:16PM EDTHi Kendra,
Great call tonight! I learned a lot. Could you direct me to the Yahoo conversation between Amber and Peggy? Thanks -
Judy Watters, Oct 15, 2008, 11:38AM EDTHi Kendra,
I wonder how we can contact Tyler. I am not sure how to find her on Gather.com. -
Amber Starfire, Oct 14, 2008, 10:02AM EDTHi Kendra, thanks for the ping and note. Don't worry ... I'm not planning on giving it up ... just want to know where the balance is and how to do this without spending SO much time on it. Other types of social networking -- critique groups, SCN writing and reading groups -- seem meaningful to me. And they also take time. Perhaps we can discuss the time/balance issue in our next class. For example, how do you do it? How much time do you spend marketing and how much actually writing? Thanks.

Jeff Wilson , Sep 19, 2008, 6:22PM EDTHi Kendra, I'm a former Mainiac, myself. Currently in western North Carolina. I liked Maui a lot when I was there 8 years ago. You can travel through 7-8 ecosystems on Maui.
